Inspection and Maintenance of Lifeboat, Launching Appliances, and On-load Release Mechanism

MOL MARINE & ENGINEERING's inspection and maintenance services for Lifeboats, Launching appliances, and on-load release mechanism are certified by the manufacturers of these products.

Acquired "ISO9001 (2015)" as a service provider for inspection and maintenance of Lifeboats and Launching appliances in the 1st Apr. 2020.

From 1 January 2020, maintenance, thorough examination, operational testing, overhaul and repair of the following items shall be carried out in accordance with the IMO Resolution MSC.402(96).

[ Application ]

• Lifeboats (including free-fall lifeboats), rescue boats and fast rescue boats
• Launching appliances as well as on-load and off-load release gears for lifeboats (including primary and secondary means of launching appliances for free-fall lifeboats), rescue boats, fast rescue boats and davit-launched life rafts

On the other hand, flag administrations may accept or recognize service providers authorized by the other flag administrations or approved by their Recognized Organizations.

Our company has been authorized by Recognized Organization Nippon Kaiji kyokai(Class NK) and Panama, Liberia, and Bahamas administrations as a service provider for Lifeboats, Launching devices, and on-load release mechanism.
We provides manufacturer-certified engineers to accomplish above service for each maker and type of the equipment in Japan and we also make arrangements for inspection and maintenance service in Singapore, China, South Korea, and other countries.

GAS Detector

We "MOL MARINE & ENGINEERING" provide periodic inspection and maintenance, calibration etc. for portable Gas Detector and onboard installation type of Gas Detector manufactured by RIKEN KEIKI
Regarding portable Gas Detector, basically we specialize in inspection by landing (at shore workshop) but we also have an onboard inspection.
We observe Maker's procedure and recommended interval for servicing, maintenance in accordance with SIRE requirement.

SIRE (Excerpt) for Reference
5.23 The manufacturers' recommended intervals for servicing the equipment must be observed and procedures in place for the replacement of parts such as filters, at the manufacturers' recommended intervals.
And, In the case of hydrocarbon gas analysers, the correct test gas specified in the manufacturers' documentation must be used and officers must know what the result of using that test gas should be.

Life Raft Inspection and Maintenance

MOL MARINE & ENGINEERING arranges periodic inspections and maintenance of life rafts, which are placed aboard all MOL Group-operated vessels.
Furthermore we arrange regular inspections of onboard safety equipment (fire extinguishing equipment, life jackets, breathing apparatus, water-quality testing devices, and so on) and Elevator, further enhancing the safety of group vessel operation.
