MOL DP Training Center
We have installed a dynamic positioning simulator with a Dynamic Positioning System in our head office.
The simulator is manufactured by Kongsberg, same as actual machine equipment's on the vessel, and trained as if trainees operate an actual ship.
We are not only provide providing DP operation training for seafarers and engineers within the MOL Group, but also provide training that meets the requirements of our customers, such as offshore wind power generation and special vessels for offshore development.
As Japan's first training center certified by The Nautical Institute (Headquarters: UK), we provide the following training and can issue a training certificate, which is essential for acquiring DP operator qualification.
We also provide our original training for special vessels involved in offshore wind power and ocean development.

MOLDPTC Educational Course
This is an unique course designed to develop basic understanding and awareness of DP technology.
- 1. DP Familiarization Course for Japanese
- A Course to create DP awareness and Introduction to basic knowledge about DP.
NI Accredited Courses
As Japan's first Nautical Institute (NI)-certified training center, we offer a range of Dynamic Positining (DP) training courses. Upon successful course completion, participants receive a training certificate to aid in obtaining their Dynamic Positioning operator (DPO) certification.
- 3. DP Sea Time Reduction Course
- Simulator Course to shorten DP sea time required in Phase D from 60 to 30 days
- 4. DP Revalidation Course
- DPO License renewal course for DPOs that have DP vessel seatime of less than 30 days in past 5 years
- 5. DP Refresher and Competency Assessment Course
- DPO License renewal course for DPOs who were on board DP vessel more than 30 days in past 5 years
- 6. Key Technical DP Personnel (The DP Vessel Maintainer Course)
- Course to understand the redundancy concept for DP operations for Engineers and ETOs
Offshore Vessel Training Courses (ClassNK Accredited)

We contribute to the safe operation of specialized vessels involved in offshore wind power projects as well as other marine development activities.
- 1. SERVICE OPERATION VESSEL (SOV / WALK TO WORK) COURSE
- Course to develop DPOs maneuvering skills and knowledge of SOVs
- 2. SELF ELEVATING PLATFORM VESSEL(SEP / JACK-UP) FAMILIARIZATION COURSE
- A familiarization course for seafarers, and non-seafarers, involved in operations and management of
SEP/jack-up rigs.
- 3. OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSEL SHIP HANDLING COURSE
- Course to enhance offshore vessel handling skills. Trainees operate various offshore vessel models while
learning about Azimuth thrusters, bow thrusters, and pitch propellers.
- 4. ANCHOR HANDLING COURSE (AHVs)
- Course for grasping AHVs maneuvering skills crucial for deploying, retrieving, and repositioning anchors
of offshore platforms and rigs
- 5. CABLE LAYING COURSE
- Course for DPOs specialising in the maneuvering of Cable laying vessels.
