BRM Training

Vessel operators can now count on the most sophisticated vessels and equipment to achieve safe navigation. However, even the best equipment and machinery and the most advanced science and technology cannot ensure success because vessels are operated by humans. We have focused massive efforts on upgrading our own technology to optimize training and thus minimize any threat to safety.

Still, technology alone is not the answer to ensuring safety at sea. BRM enables bridge personnel to make full use of their individual and collective knowledge, information and skills, as an organization called the Bridge Team - acknowledging situations, conveying information, recognizing problems, planning solutions, and putting the plans into effect.

The BRM training we offer is advanced and practical – first, study the concepts to prevent accidents, centered on organizational strength, learn BRM technology theory through lectures and brainstorming; and then undertake training using the simulator to practice BRM technology.

BRM training targets mainly marine officers, helmsmen, and others serving on the bridge, as well as captains. Our BRM training enhances individual recognition to prevent a major accident caused by a chain of tiny errors, strengthens the capacity of the Bridge Team to respond to extreme conditions, and enhances onboard organizational management. So it aims to eliminate accidents and minimize damage in accidents that do occur, protecting ships, lives, cargo, and the marine environment.

BRM training for Captain and Crew of MOL is carried out for 40 hours (5 days) as recommended by IMO Model Course 1.22 certified by Class NK.
